Team Uganda
We have built a team of Uganda natives that oversee all projects and ensure the highest level of quality is delivered to the rural villages we serve. With limitations on international travel in 2020, our local team proved to be instrumental in our ability to provide support and supplies throughout the year.
WOL: Mityana Headquarters
Wells of Life learned early on that there was a benefit of employing a strong and successful team in Uganda.
Boots on the Ground
Our Country Director, Adrian Laurentiu, cultivates and maintains many partnerships. Throughout the COVID lockdowns and travel restrictions, we worked closely with the Ministry of Health as well as the Ministry of Water and Environment to become approved first responders in order to provide support within the rural communities and local medical centers. Our team also worked with the Uganda Water and Sanitation Network (UWASNET) and Buganda Cultural and Development Foundation (BUCADEF) to help our region create community-led sanitation programs and achieve sustainable development goals.
Wells of Life is Different
The team we have in Uganda is what sets Wells of Life apart from many other NGOs because we maintain ongoing relationships with the communities we have provided water for in past years. We have the capabilities to perform and oversee functionality assessments to measure the level of performance of our wells, and be sure targets of water quality are being met. Since many of our team members are from the very communities we have supported with our clean water mission, they have a deep understanding of the needs of these communities. Our team provides valuable insight on program development and ways to implement the support we are capable of offering. The seamless collaboration of our USA, Ireland, and Uganda organizations has really been the secret to the success we have enjoyed in our first 10 years.
