When looking through the pictures of the Uganda trip made by many Wells of Life team members, you might have wondered who the man pictured below was. His name is Steven Twishime. Fate him brought him close to the Wells of Life as he was the driver who picked up the WOL team at the Entebbe airport and drove them around Uganda for the week.
We got in touch with Steven after the trip and asked him a few questions:
Wells of Life: Where do you live?
Steven: I Live in Entebbe. and work at Airport Taxi Services. I have been working with this company since 2008.doing tours around Uganda and neighboring Rwanda, Kenya,Tanzania, Burundi and Congo. I am also Pastoring at New Jerusalem Ministries international in Gayaza, Uganda so through driving people around Uganda and neighboring countries is when I met my friend Adrian (Laurentiu, Wells of Life Field Operations Manager). He is the one who introduced me to meet the Wells of Life team. I appreciate the great work you're doing for the people of Mubende.
Wells of LIfe: Do you have a family?
Steven: Yes. I have a wife and three children. My wife's name is Mbabazi Bennah. My children are Caroline Muhawenimana (12 years old), Claire Uwimana (9 years old) and Clever Halelaimana (7 years old). We also take care of and watch over a 14 year old girl named Bilugi Catherine. All are currently attending school.
Wells of Life: Do you, or do you have family that doesn't have access to clean water?
Steven: I have family in two different areas that there really, really suffering with swamp water. The first is Gayaza Kiwenda, Uganda. This area has over 30,000 families. The other area is Madu Two and this area has over 70,000 families.
Wells of Life: Have you seen direct effects of Wells of Life's mission in Uganda?.
Steven: Indeed. The work that has been done by Wells of Life in Mubende, Mitiyana, Jinja at Joan Jordan Primary school, and other areas is great work. Work that the people of Uganda will not forget and will continue to help them the rest of their lives. It is my pleasure to meet such a wonderful team and kindly may the good Lord reward!
